Together we can reduce our carbon footprint and reshape the world.
HOW WE MAKE BACKPACKS
FROM RECYCLED MATERIALS
Through an eco-friendly process, discarded plastic bottles get transformed into high quality and lightweight Recycled PET Polyester yarn. This process uses 50% less energy, 20% less water, and creates 60% less air pollution than the standard polyester yarn manufacturing process.
The end result? Recycled plastic bottles get a new life as eco-friendly backpacks that don't compromise on sustainability or style.
WHY SWITCH TO USING
ECO-FRIENDLY BACKPACKS?
Cultivating an eco-friendly lifestyle is no longer a trend — it's a responsibility. Many brands are now making the effort to adopt eco-friendly and sustainable manufacturing processes. Our backpacks made from recycled materials help to not only reduce costs, but also to protect the planet, and inspire our customers to reduce their impact on the environment.
THESE SUSTAINABLE BACKPACKS LOVE TREES
We partnered with the National Forest Foundation to help restore our forests. For every eco-friendly backpack sold from our Re:cycled Collection, we’ll plant a tree to help reforest U.S. National Forests, and if you take our Green Pledge we'll plant a second tree for you.
SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING
We vowed to eliminate plastic from our packaging by the end of 2020. Our hangtags are printed on 100% recycled & biodegradable material and hung with 100% recycled cotton string and a 100% biodegradable clasp.
OUR SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVE
Solo New York is committed to reducing our carbon footprint, and we’re going above and beyond designing backpacks made from recycled materials and helping to renew our national forests. At our headquarters, we have adopted solar power, banned plastic water bottle use, and developed a corrugated recycling program for all cardboard disposal.
