Columbus bag survived a 2-story escalator tumble.

"I have been thrilled with the fact that this rolling overnighter fits under the seat in most planes, including smaller ones, but I have another reason to brag about this bag. My packed bag typically weighs about 30 lbs. Last week, while standing at the top of the (fortunately empty) 2-story escalator between the SkyTrain and gate levels at DFW airport, I lost grip of the fully extended handle and watch the bag tumble end over end down the entire escalator span. It took out a 3-inch grooved piece from one of the escalator steps. Astonishingly, my laptop was unharmed and works just fine. The handle did not snap or bend. It is necessary for me to push it hard to get it to retract fully into the badly dented metal sleeve, but I can use the bag until I get a replacement."

    My 5 one

"The last one the grip on the handle wore out. This bag would be 5 stars if it had a strap to attach to a suitcase handle. This style used to have that. Bag fits in every Delta Airlines Airplanes overhead bin. The leather one adds more weight than I cared for."

    Columbus travel Bag

"I have used this case for almost 20 years, still have it. It is the best travel bag I have ever had. Used it to travel all over this country."

    I have an older model

"I have an older model that I replaced with this purchase. Newer model is amazing! Lighter and roomy!"

A good rolling case -- but you have to be aware..

"I bought this case because it has a separate "compartment" for the laptop which can be removed without opening the case, itself. However, what I did not realize is that the area in which the laptop (and its case) slide is not "reinforced" in relation to the compartment "above" it -- that is the area where you can put clothing (or other items) can "collapse" into the area where the laptop is kept. This is not a major flaw -- but something that one should be aware of. Otherwise, this case is excellent for my needs. Very easy to maneuver holding my "stuff" very efficiently."
